What is a BCBA?

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is professional with graduate level certification in behavior analysis.  To obtain this certification an individual must have a Masters or Ph.D in the fields of education, behavior analysis or psychology from a qualifying university.  This certification identifies an individuals as qualified provider of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Services. 

Applied Behavior Analysis

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence based practice used to teach skills and modify behaviors.  It has been proven effective in the ares of parent training, eating disorders, substance abuse, occupational safety interventions, brain injury rehabilitation, dementia management and individuals with developmental disabilities. ABA is a branch of behavior analysis which focuses on the functional relationship between an individuals behavior and their environment along with understanding human development.
